Aston Martin confirmed on September 29 that Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll have extended their long-term contracts to remain with the team beyond 2026.[1] The unchanged lineup will compete together for a fifth successive season in 2027.
The team statement highlighted the duo as the most experienced driver pairing in Formula 1. Both drivers will provide racing knowledge and technical insight as Aston Martin continues its development program into the next phase.[1]
Alonso, the sport's oldest active driver, will turn 46 during the 2027 campaign. He has started a record number of Grands Prix and holds 32 career victories.[2]
Stroll, son of team executive chairman Lawrence Stroll, has been with the Silverstone-based outfit since its Racing Point days in 2019.[3]

The extensions reduce available seats on the 2027 grid and end speculation surrounding Alonso's future with the team.
