Majority of drivers enter final contract year
More than half the 2026 F1 grid enter the final year of their contracts. Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon, Oliver Bearman, Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto all have deals expiring at the end of the season, according to contract trackers from The Race, PlanetF1 and Sky Sports.

The situation creates uncertainty for several teams ahead of the 2027 season. Haas and Aston Martin in particular face decisions on multiple seats, while Audi must weigh options for its experienced pairing.
