Monza adopts Sprint format from 2027 for three seasons

Monza to run Sprint weekends from 2027
The Automobile Club of Italy confirmed a three-year agreement under which the Italian Grand Prix at Monza will adopt the Sprint format in 2027, 2028 and 2029.[1][2]
President Geronimo La Russa made the announcement during the presentation of the 2026 Italian GP events in Milan.[1]
Monza previously hosted a Sprint event in 2021 as one of the original three circuits chosen for the experimental format alongside Silverstone and Interlagos.[3]
The new deal adds the Saturday Sprint race to the traditional Sunday Grand Prix at the Temple of Speed for the next three seasons.[2]
