Red Bull confirms Tom McCullough hire to lead racing operations
Red Bull has appointed former Aston Martin performance director Tom McCullough as its new head of racing. He replaces Gianpiero Lambiase and starts at the beginning of the 2027 season. Lambiase moves to McLaren no later than 2028. The team issued a statement welcoming McCullough's experience.

Red Bull has confirmed the appointment of Tom McCullough as its new head of racing. He joins from Aston Martin at the start of the 2027 season. [1] McCullough spent more than a decade with the team formerly known as Force India and Racing Point, holding roles including chief race engineer before becoming performance director. [2]
Gianpiero Lambiase currently holds the position alongside his duties as Max Verstappen's race engineer. Lambiase departs for McLaren by 2028 at the latest to become chief racing officer. [3]

Red Bull stated it is delighted to welcome McCullough and looks forward to the experience he will bring. The role oversees race team operations under team principal Laurent Mekies. [1]
McCullough previously worked at Williams and Sauber before his long Aston Martin tenure. A 2025 restructure at Aston Martin moved him to performance technologies. [2]
