Herta replaces Perez for Monza practice

Cadillac confirmed that Colton Herta would drive the team's car in place of Sergio Perez during FP1 at the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.[2] The outing formed part of Herta's development programme with the American constructor. Herta had already completed two prior FP1 sessions in the 2026 season. Perez completed one of his required absences for the race driver.

Session outcome

Herta completed five laps before a suspected hydraulic issue brought the car to a stop and triggered a red flag.[1] The American finished the session slowest overall. Official timing sheets listed Herta in 22nd position. Cadillac's other driver, Valtteri Bottas, finished 19th.
