Pirelli selects softer tyre compounds for 2026 Sao Paulo Grand Prix
Pirelli has nominated the C3 as hard, C4 as medium and C5 as soft for the 2026 Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos. The allocation is one step softer than the 2025 selection. Resurfacing between Turns 3-5 and 8-9 is expected to affect grip and degradation levels during the event.
Pirelli tyre nomination
Pirelli has selected the C3 compound as the hard tyre, the C4 as the medium and the C5 as the soft for the 2026 Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos.[1]
The allocation represents one step softer across the range compared with the 2025 selection, when the C2 served as hard during a Sprint-format weekend.[1]
Track resurfacing impact
Resurfacing work completed between Turns 3-5 and Turns 8-9 is expected to influence grip levels and track evolution, particularly during longer runs.[1]
Teams will assess the new asphalt surfaces across the three free practice sessions to determine effects on tyre behaviour and degradation.
