Zandvoort Hosts Final Dutch GP in 2026
The 2026 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort will be the last F1 race there following a one-year contract extension. The event will also mark the first Sprint format at the venue, concluding five years of racing after the track returned to the calendar in 2021.
Contract Extension Confirmed
Formula 1 and the Dutch Grand Prix promoter agreed to a one-year contract extension that keeps Circuit Zandvoort on the calendar through the 2026 season.[1] The extension follows the track's return to the schedule in 2021 after a 36-year absence. The 2026 event will serve as the final race at the venue.
First Sprint at the Venue
The final Dutch Grand Prix will introduce the Sprint format for the first time at Zandvoort.[2] The 2025 race is scheduled for late August while the exact 2026 date remains to be confirmed. This addition aligns with broader calendar changes and provides a new element to the weekend program.
Promoter Decision
The promoter concluded the event after 2026 while support remains strong.[3] Formula 1 noted positive collaboration in reaching the extension agreement. The decision ends the current run that began with the 2021 revival.
