Why the Dutch Grand Prix concludes after 2026

Answer
Confirmed

Zandvoort organisers end the Dutch GP after 2026 due to financial self-sufficiency needs and risks of declining interest. Formula One Management viewed the event as a model promoter and sought continuation, yet the privately funded promoter declined extension beyond the confirmed 2026 race.

Contract extension and termination decision

Formula 1 and the Dutch Grand Prix promoter agreed a one-year extension that keeps Circuit Zandvoort on the calendar through 2026.[1] After that season the promoter will not continue. The official site of the event states that the 2026 race weekend closes five years of Formula 1 history in Zandvoort.[3]

Promoter rationale

The privately funded organisation cited the requirement for financial self-sufficiency and the risk of declining interest as reasons for concluding the event. Formula One Management regarded Zandvoort as a model promoter and expressed interest in continuation.[2]

2026 programme

The final edition includes the first Formula 1 Sprint held on Dutch soil and runs from 21 to 23 August. Tickets for the weekend sold out.[3]
