Martin Brundle believes McLaren's victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix has left the 2026 Formula 1 championship far from over, with 291 points still available.[1]
The Sky Sports F1 pundit made the remarks in his post-race column. McLaren secured its 14th win at the Hungaroring through Lando Norris.[1]
Race outcome
Norris claimed his and McLaren's first Grand Prix victory of 2026 at the Hungaroring.[2] He finished ahead of Max Verstappen and Kimi Antonelli after mid-race incidents.[2]
Championship implications
Brundle noted the result narrows the gap at the top. He stated that with the top four closer than before, the title fight remains open assuming the remaining races occur.[1]
