Assen Confirms No Interest in Replacing Zandvoort for F1
TT Circuit Assen has ruled out investing in a FIA Grade 1 licence to host Formula 1 after Zandvoort stages its final Dutch Grand Prix in 2026. The venue will instead concentrate on its long-running MotoGP commitments.
Assen Declines F1 Bid
TT Circuit Assen has ruled out pursuing the FIA Grade 1 licence required to stage Formula 1 events.[1] Circuit director Mark van Aalderen stated that the chance of an F1 race at the venue is zero until 2030 and particularly small thereafter. Management has ruled out the necessary multi-million euro investment. The track will focus resources on its established MotoGP calendar.
Zandvoort is scheduled to host the final Dutch Grand Prix under its current agreement in 2026.[2] No replacement venue has emerged in the Netherlands.
