Haze reaches Singapore ahead of October race
Air quality in Singapore has deteriorated due to smoke from wildfires in Indonesia's Sumatra and Kalimantan regions. The National Environment Agency reported 24-hour PSI readings entering the unhealthy range in multiple areas during September 2026, with moderate to dense smoke plumes observed drifting across the region.[1]
Singapore GP organizers have incorporated haze contingencies into the event plan developed with government agencies. These measures cover visibility, public health, and operational issues. In the event of problems, the organizers will coordinate with relevant agencies before any decisions on the event.[2]
Medical assistance and N95 masks are available as part of preparations, consistent with responses during previous haze episodes that affected the night race.[3]
