FIA clears revised wet-weather software for Singapore after Bahrain probe
The FIA has completed its review of the power unit software issue that disrupted the Bahrain Grand Prix formation lap at Sepang. The configuration introduced there will remain available for the Singapore Grand Prix if wet weather is expected. A further update is scheduled for the United States Grand Prix on October 25.
FIA completes Bahrain software review
The FIA has concluded its investigation into the power unit software issue that affected multiple cars during the formation laps of the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang. The review identified that some cars experienced greater power loss than intended when operating at low engine RPM in sectors with a 250 kW reduction applied. The power could not be recovered within those sectors.[4]
Revised configuration available in Singapore
As a direct result of the findings, the configuration established for the Sepang event will be reinstated for the Singapore Grand Prix should similar weather conditions be expected. A further update to the wet-weather software is planned for the United States Grand Prix on October 25.[3]
The FIA stated that the configuration will be available if wet weather occurs at Marina Bay this weekend. Thunderstorms are forecast for race day.[1]
