Monza Infrastructure Upgrades Ongoing Ahead of 2026 Italian GP
Preparatory works for the second phase of Monza circuit redevelopment, including a new media centre with 400 workstations and permanent paddock club cover, continue ahead of the 2026 Italian GP. Full racing activities will halt after the season until July 2027 to allow completion of the upgrades without disrupting the event.
Monza Redevelopment Enters Preparatory Stage
Preparatory works for the second phase of infrastructure upgrades at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza are underway. These include a new media centre and paddock improvements ahead of the 2026 Italian Grand Prix.[1]
The project follows the official handover of the construction site on 22 June 2026. It targets a new media centre with 400 workstations, a permanent cover for the Paddock Club terrace, and upgrades to race control facilities.[2]
Works are scheduled to intensify after the 2026 season. All racing activities between the barriers will pause from the end of that campaign until July 2027 to enable full execution. Non-affected areas of the circuit will remain accessible.[1]
Timeline and Scope
The second phase forms part of a larger redevelopment programme valued at around 40 million euros for this tranche. It builds on earlier interventions completed in 2024.[3]
Preparatory activities such as site preparation, access routes, and utility works are already advancing. The most intensive construction phase will begin in November 2026 following the Italian Grand Prix.[3]
