FIA Defines Monza Straight Line Mode Zones

Answer
Confirmed

The FIA has set four specific zones for Straight Line Mode activation at Monza in 2026. The final mapping differs from the earlier indicative version sent to teams, with a shorter zone at Curva Grande for safety reasons.

FIA Finalizes Monza SLM Zones

The FIA has officially defined four zones at the Monza circuit where 2026 Formula 1 cars may activate Straight Line Mode.[1]

The first zone covers the main straight. A second runs in the section leading toward Variante della Roggia. A third starts after Lesmo 2 and extends to the approach of Variante Ascari. The fourth covers the long stretch toward Parabolica.[1]

Changes From Indicative Map

The final configuration differs from the indicative mapping provided to teams at the start of the season. That earlier version served as reference for pre-season simulations and aerodynamic setups.[1]

The most notable adjustment affects Curva Grande. The initial plan allowed Straight Line Mode through much of the Biassono curve. The definitive version shortens the zone to the straighter section before braking for Variante della Roggia.[1]
