Perez signs multi-year Cadillac extension
Sergio Perez has signed a contract extension with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team that keeps him at the squad until at least the end of 2029. The announcement came on 28 October 2026, two days before his 300th Grand Prix start at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Perez joined Cadillac for its debut season in 2026.
Contract extension confirmed
Sergio Perez has extended his contract with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team through the end of 2029.[1][2] The multi-year deal was announced on 28 October 2026, ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix where Perez is set to make his 300th start.
Perez joined the American team for its debut 2026 season alongside Valtteri Bottas.[3] The 36-year-old has been the stronger performer of the two drivers this year, though the team has yet to score points.
Team statement
Cadillac chief executive Dan Towriss said the extension provides continuity as the team builds its operation.[4] "Securing Checo's talent and leadership gives us the continuity and commitment we need to build on the strong foundation established in our first year," Towriss said.
Perez described the move as a natural continuation of his commitment to the project. The extension keeps him at Cadillac for three additional seasons beyond the original term.
