Norris locks in long-term future at McLaren

Lando Norris, the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers' World Champion, announced a contract extension with McLaren on August 29, 2026. The new agreement keeps the British driver at the team until at least the end of the 2030 season. McLaren confirmed a multi-year option to extend beyond that date. [1]

Norris made the announcement in person at the McLaren Technology Centre during the team's annual family and friends open day. He has been with McLaren since joining its junior program in 2017 and made his Formula 1 debut with the team in 2019. The extension adds at least four more years to his previous multi-year deal. [3]

McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella highlighted Norris's role in the team's recent success, including two Constructors' Championships and the 2025 Drivers' title. The team also gifted Norris his championship-winning MCL39 chassis as part of the announcement. [1]
