Residents near the new Madring circuit in Madrid have filed complaints over noise levels exceeding legal limits and traffic disruptions ahead of the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix, the first in the capital since 1981. Studies and tests during Formula 3 sessions recorded peaks above 100 decibels in nearby homes.
Noise complaints surface near Madring
Residents in districts including Hortaleza, Valdefuentes, and Canillas have submitted formal complaints citing noise levels that exceed Madrid's legal limits for residential areas during the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix weekend.[1][2] Measurements taken during Formula 3 test sessions recorded peaks near or above 100 decibels in homes close to the circuit layout around Ifema.[3]
Traffic and broader disruption
The same groups highlight road closures, diversions, and impacts on schools, care homes, and green spaces for the September 11–13 event.[2] Spanish courts have rejected at least two requests for precautionary measures to halt preparations.[2]
