Lewis Hamilton has called for written rules of engagement at Ferrari following his first-lap clash with Charles Leclerc at the Italian Grand Prix. The seven-time champion says clearer procedures are needed to avoid repeats as the team heads to Madrid.

Lewis Hamilton has urged Ferrari to introduce written rules of engagement after a first-lap clash with teammate Charles Leclerc at the Italian Grand Prix left both drivers out of contention for a strong result at the team's home race.[1][2]
Hamilton started from the second row alongside Leclerc but ran wide at the first chicane after the pair went side-by-side. He dropped to tenth and recovered to sixth, while Leclerc crashed out on lap two.
Call for procedural change
The seven-time world champion said Ferrari lacks the clear guidelines that existed during his Mercedes years.
"When I was at Mercedes we had written rules of engagement. And we never really had it too bad. Here there are no rules. I think that's something that needs to probably change," Hamilton told reporters.[1]
He added that discussions with team principal Fred Vasseur would continue offline to establish better procedures ahead of future races.
