Monza recovery seals points swing
Kimi Antonelli won the 2026 Italian Grand Prix from 19th on the grid after an engine penalty.[1] He passed Mercedes teammate George Russell late in the race to finish first, with Russell second.[2] The result extended Antonelli's Drivers' Championship lead to 66 points over Russell.[3]
Standings update ahead of Madrid
Lewis Hamilton sits 76 points behind Antonelli in third place. Lando Norris trails by 96 points. The next round is the Spanish Grand Prix at the new Madring circuit in Madrid.
