How to watch F1 in 2026

Answer

In the United States, Formula 1 moved to Apple TV for 2026, with every session streamed and a selection of races plus all practice available at no charge in the app. In the United Kingdom, Sky Sports F1 shows every session live, with Channel 4 carrying highlights and the British Grand Prix. F1's own F1 TV service streams races in many other countries.

United States: Apple TV

From 2026, Formula 1's exclusive United States home is Apple TV, ending the long ESPN era under a new five-year deal.[1] Every practice, qualifying, sprint and race streams on Apple TV for subscribers, and a selection of races plus all practice sessions can be watched at no charge in the Apple TV app through the season.[1] An Apple TV subscription costs 12.99 dollars a month and now includes F1 TV Premium at no extra cost, so the standalone F1 TV subscription is no longer sold separately in the US.[2]

United Kingdom: Sky and Channel 4

In the UK, Sky Sports F1 holds the live rights and shows every session, also available through Sky Go and NOW.[3] Channel 4 carries highlights of every round on terrestrial television without a subscription, plus the British Grand Prix live.[3]

F1 TV and other countries

F1's own streaming service, F1 TV, offers live races, onboard cameras and team radio in many countries, with a Premium tier adding multiview and 4K.[4] Availability is country by country, so where a broadcaster holds exclusive live rights, such as Sky in the UK or Apple in the US, F1 TV's live coverage is limited or bundled into that partner.[4]

When races are on

A typical Grand Prix runs on a Sunday, with practice on Friday and qualifying on Saturday, while sprint weekends swap one practice for a short Saturday race.[3] Start times shift week to week because they follow the host country's local time zone, across a 24-race calendar that runs from March to December.[3]

:::analysis For American fans the Apple switch is the headline. A single subscription now bundles the full F1 TV Premium experience that used to cost extra, with some races watchable at no charge, which is a simpler and cheaper package than the old split between a cable channel and a separate streaming add-on.
