Can you overtake at Singapore?

Not easily. Marina Bay is one of the hardest circuits on the calendar to overtake on, a tight, twisting street track hemmed in by walls where qualifying and track position matter enormously. DRS and a handful of heavy braking zones give some chances, but for most of the lap following closely is difficult, so the undercut and strategy often decide places instead.
The short answer
Not really. Marina Bay is a tight, walled street circuit with many slow corners and short straights, so cars struggle to follow closely and clean overtaking is rare.[1] The DRS zones and a few braking points create some chances, but track position is king, which is why a strong qualifying and a well-timed pit stop usually matter more than wheel-to-wheel moves.[2]
Where to overtake at Singapore
- The heavy braking zones after the straights. DRS gives the attacker a run into a small number of hard stops, the best of the limited chances.[1]
- The pit lane. With passing so hard on track, the undercut and overcut decide many positions.
- Almost everywhere else. Walls, slow corners and dirty air make following, and passing, genuinely difficult.
