Red Bull confirms Baku package as final 2026 upgrade, shifts majority resources to 2027 car
Red Bull has brought a five-part aerodynamic upgrade package to the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Team principal Laurent Mekies stated that the Baku modifications represent the squad's last significant development step of the season, with the vast majority of resources already redirected toward the 2027 car.

Red Bull arrived at the Baku City Circuit with a five-part aerodynamic upgrade package for the RB22. The changes include a revised floor geometry, updated sidepods, modified mirror assembly, and adjustments to the halo and cooling louvres. Both Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar ran the full package during the weekend. The updates target improved local aerodynamic load while maintaining flow stability.[1]
Development focus shift confirmed
Team principal Laurent Mekies confirmed during Thursday's press conference that the Baku package marks the final notable upgrade of the 2026 season. He stated that a very large majority of resources have already been switched to the 2027 car. The regulations for 2027 feature only minor changes, allowing the team to gather data from remaining 2026 races to prepare for next year while still pursuing a first win this season.[2]
