Planned circuit forms part of larger resort
Developers Sea Breeze included a track for the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix in announcements for the Fire Island project.[1] The artificial island off the Caspian coast covers 268 hectares and forms part of a wider resort development. A cooperation agreement with China Construction Infrastructure Co., Ltd. (CSCEC Infrastructure) was signed on September 10.[2] The project combines residential and resort elements. No completion date, Formula 1 hosting agreement or schedule for relocating the race from central Baku has been released. The current Baku City Circuit remains the venue for the event.
