What does NC mean in F1 results?
NC stands for 'not classified'. A car is classified only if it completes at least 90% of the race winner's distance. A driver below that threshold is shown as NC, appears at the bottom of the result without a finishing position, and scores no points, even if the car was still running at the flag.
What NC means
NC means "not classified". Under the FIA rules a car must cover at least 90% of the winner's race distance to be classified, so a driver who falls short, whether by retiring early or by spending too long in the garage, is listed as NC with no finishing position and no points.[1] Note that NC is not the same as a DNF: a retired car can still be classified if it had already reached the 90% mark.[2] The full picture is in classified and DNF vs not classified.
