The road to F1
Frederik Vesti is a Danish driver and longtime Mercedes junior, with the team since 2021, promoted to Third Driver for 2026. He came up through karting in Denmark and won the 2019 ADAC and Italian Formula 4 titles before taking the 2021 Formula Regional European crown and finishing runner-up in the 2023 Formula 2 championship with Prema. He has driven FP1 for Mercedes at Bahrain, Mexico City and Abu Dhabi in 2025 and again at the 2026 Barcelona Grand Prix, and has done extensive development work on the 2026 car. He has raced in IMSA sports cars to stay sharp between reserve duties.
